2021 marks the 57th year\nsince the Community Action Network was established to help American families\nand communities overcome obstacles to poverty. Over 1000 agencies across the\ncountry are working every day to create opportunities and transform the lives\nof their neighbors making communities stronger and helping families across the\nUS thrive. This year, Gallia-Meigs Community Action Agency, a proud member of\nthe Community Action Network, will also commemorate 57 years helping families\nthroughout Gallia and Meigs Counties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEach May, during Community Action Month, we reflect on the\nimpact Gallia-Meigs Community Action Agency and our network has had on families,\u201d said Lora Rawson of GMCAA. \u201cLast year\nalone, we served 2,805 households in Gallia and Meigs Counties with immediately needed services\nsuch as utility assistance, rent and weatherization services.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Community Action Agencies serve 99% of all American counties\nwith life-changing services to help families achieve financial stability. All\nagencies are locally controlled and represented by the private, public, and\nlow-income sectors of the community. \u201cWe are proud of our communities\u2019\nparticipation in the development and oversight of our programs,\u201d said Rawson.\n\u201cTheir engagement helps us to be more effective in our approach by determining\nwhat Gallia and Meigs County needs.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
