The David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship Fund was created in memory of the former COAD employee as a tribute to his pursuit of academic excellence and his commitment to help others achieve their fullest potential. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students who are residents of the 30 counties in the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development service area and want to attend college but lack the required resources.

“I am pleased to announce the availability of this scholarship fund for students in our 30-country service area who want to attend an institution of higher education, but lack the required resources to do so. The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) is offering this scholarship in collaboration with its member community Action Agencies.
Enclosed is a copy of the application information and procedures along with an application form and the accompanying paperwork. Feel Free to make additional copies of these materials as needed or you may download all relevant forms from our website. Please distribute this information to students who may qualify and need financial assistance.
The application deadline is April 1, 2020. All applications and required paperwork must be submitted (postmarked) by this date to be considered. Applicants must submit all application forms and required documentation to the Community Action Agency that serves the county in which the applicant resides (note that sending applications directly to COAD will delay processing). I have included a listing of the seventeen COAD-member Community Action Agencies and the counties they serve with this mailing or you can find the information on our website.
